We will not allow those with the LTTE to bring back terrorism: P.M Wickremsinghe

The 20th Annual Convention of the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum was held in Colombo on Saturday, under the auspices of the Prime Minister,  where individuals who rendered a service towards various sectors were felicitated at the event.

“Today the threat for media freedom in the country comes from within the media” said Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe who pointed out that the the first was the VAT bomb, and then came the Sri Lankan Airlines and they cannot follow up on that even today.

“Now they want to create an environment calling for the return of King Dutugemunu”, charged the Premier

He added that following this incident, Minister Sampanthan had called and had said that he did not did not want to join the army, and that he only attended a meeting in Kilinochchi.

“These lands used to belong to those people”, charged the PM who further added that the people had a fear as to whether these lands will be released, and in order to avoid an incident he had entered the premise,s and the army had allowed him to go through.

“So, is Sampanthan a LTTE person? He is with us” said P.M. Wickremsinghe, who pointed out that in parliament it is a duty to summon and raise the matter

The premier further stated that the the LTTE is no more, and they can not come back no matter how much one tries, and legal action will be taken against Mahinda for not for not bringing this to an end

“Was anyone able to question about Eknaligoda during the time of Mahinda Rajapaksa? That is the difference”, said the P.M. who vowed that the LTTE will not be allowed to bring back terrorism.
