Twelve capsules of Heroin were allegedly discovered in the body of a Pakistani national who was arrested by officers of the Katunayake Airport Narcotics Bureau.
Police said that the suspect is currently receiving treatment at the Negombo Hospital. Police added that a seven-day detention order was handed, after he was produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court.
The 53-year-old Pakistani national was arrested at the Katunayake International Airport on Friday for allegedly smuggling Heroin into the country by swallowing the capsules.
