The United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura , called on the United States and Russia to help push the the Syria peace talks.
The peace talks in Geneva came to a halt as the Syrian opposition pulled out almost all of its delegates soon after the talks began. De Mistura reported the latest progress of the talks to the UN Security Council early Today and later held a press conference.
He said frankly that despite some progress, the deteriorating security situation in Syria is casting shadows on the talks.
The envoy appealed to the U.S. and Russia to come in to save the cessation of hostilities agreement that was implemented in February.
