President Maithripala Sirisena states that there is no dispute within the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

The President notes that the only issue is between two groups. One, which comprises of those who are corrupt and those who are rogues, while the other is the group that is moving forward with the positive policies of the party, and its vision.

President Maithripala Sirisena emphasised that there will be no provision to topple the government through a conspiracy to obtain power.

The president made these remarks during a meeting with heads of media institutions at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday morning.

During the discussion, the president noted that groups who hold various meetings are not working towards ensuring the victory of the party, but are attempting to make an influence on the investigations that are being carried out against their corrupt activities.

The president noted that intelligence units had informed him that the number of people who attended the Joint Opposition Rally in Hyde Park was 11,900.

Speaking at the meeting, the president said that the former ruler addressing the gathering in Hyde Park, had noted, that the judiciary must make note of the numbers present there.

President Sirisena goes on to state that the former ruler’s statement clearly shows that such meetings are organised to influence investigators and the judiciary.
