The Ceylon Electricity Board Employees’ Union says that the risk of a power outage in the city of Colombo has increased.
General Secretary of the union, Ranjan Jayalal points out that the cutting short the renovation of a currently nonfunctional underground electricity cable that transmits electricity from two sub stations in Colombo is the reason for this situation.
He added that relevant officials have turned a blind eye to the matter.
