As drug raids in the country continue, a jailer was arrested in the Weedagama area in Bandaragama on Sunday April 24. He was allegedly found to be in  possession of 15 grams of Heroin.

Police said that the suspect was arrested while travelling in a car with another individual to allegedly make a Heroin sale. Police added that information has come to light that the jailer in question has engaging in this Heroin racket for a long period of time.

Meanwhile, the two Maldivian nationals who were arrested in a hotel in Colpetty on Friday, April 22 after being found to be in possession of 1.28 kilograms of Heroin, are being detained and interrogated, based on court approval.
