The third village of the Udagam programme, organised under the Ministry of Housing and Construction is scheduled to be declared open on April 24.
A media briefing was held in Colombo on Thursday, April 21, under the auspices of Minister Sajith Premadasa, to create awareness on the housing project. The village which will be named Sanhidagama consists of 30 houses.
The Minister noted that within sox months they were able present the villages to the public and said that they hope to allocate state money to construct 200 villages this year.
He also said that they will be naming these villages under state leaders of the past adding that they are hoping to build villages centered on media and indigenous medicine.
