Train travel along the Galle – Matara Railway track that came to a standstill due to a derailment on Sunday evening has not yet been restored.

The Railway Control Room stated that one compartment that was derailed is yet to be restored.

Steps have been taken to transport passengers from Katugoda to the Galle Railway Station from where train travel will commence.

The Railway Control said that there will be delays when travelling by train due to this situation.
