PM Wickremesinghe meets Premier Li Keqiang, key officials during China visit

On Thursday April 7,  Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, during his official visit to China, called on his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang on Thursday April 7

According to international media, the two premiers engaged in bilateral discussions and trade affairs during the meeting in Beijing.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office noted that Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang announced that Sri Lanka will be provided with a grant of 500 Million Yuan to symbolise the friendship between Sri Lanka and China.

Furthermore, PM Wickremesinghe also met with the Chinese Minister of International Department of the Chinese Communist Party Song Thao in the morning at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing.

Attention was drawn towards initiating exchange programmes on organisation and training between the two nations.

Accompanying the premier in the visit to China are ministers Sajith Premadasa, Mangala Samaraweera, Malik Samarawickrama, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dr. Sarath Amunugama and Rauff Hakim.
