On Wednesday, April 06, the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division inspected the premised of CSN.
FCID detectives visited the premises in Battaramulla in the morning, accompanied by officers from the Estimations Department.
Representatives of the Rajapaksa Foundation which claims ownership to the building were also present. According to the police, around Rs.200 million had been spent for the construction of the building.
The Police FCID however informed the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court that the cost for the construction was mentioned in the accounts of the Rajapaksa Foundation, which was passed through an act in Parliament. FCID Detectives thereafter commenced an investigation to ascertain as to how the Rajapaksa Foundation came in to possession of the sum of money.
