Around 50 houses have been inundated owing to the overflow of the Walawe River.

Five sluice gates of the Udawalawa Reservoir were opened to control the flow of water, due to downpours experienced in catchment areas.

Around 50 houses in the Pattiyawaraya, Wadhuruppa and Ambalantota, were submerged as a result of the overflow of the Walawa River

Our correspondent added the houses in which the people were residing were evacuated as a result.
