A suicide vest and a cache of explosives were wound in a house in the Maravanpilau area in Chavakachcheri, Jaffna during a raid which was carried out early morning on Wednesday March 30, based on a tip-off.
In the latest update of the discovery, Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera has noted that the Investigations into the discovery has been handed over to Police Terrorist Investigation Division (TID).
According to the Police Media Spokesperson, two magnetic explosive devices were also among the explosives found on Wednesday.
Further investigations into the findings will be carried out under the supervision of the Criminal Investigations Department’s Deputy Inspector General of Police.
A thirty-year-old suspect in connection to the discovery was arrested in Akkarayankulam while on the run on Wednesday evening.
