The Ceylon Electricity Board says that they are using ten large scale power generators to provide uninterrupted electricity to the public.
Media Spokesman of CEB Sulakshan Jayawardena, says that the power generators are being placed across ten different locations in Colombo.
Two generators of 2.5 KW Amperes and 8 Generators of 11 KW Amperes are being used for the purpose.
He added that the generators will be connected to the national grid when there is a demand. Meanwhile, the hydro power generation had increased by 40% as a result of the showers experienced during the last few days.
The CEB said that the additional electricity that is required,will be obtained from other thermal power plants including from the one at Norochcholai and Kerawalapitiya.
They further noted that the daily electricity demand of the country currently stands at 2300 MW.
