Three people were killed in a motor accident which occurred in the Saliyawewa area along the Puttalam – Anuradhapura road.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the accident occurred around 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday  March 22, when a lorry ran over three pedestrians who were on their way to observe sil.

Police said that the victims were two women and an eight-year-old boy and added that the lorry fled the scene soon after the accident occurred.
