The Criminal Investigations Department has launched an investigation into an incident where the Central Mail Exchange received a parcel of drugs.
The Criminal Investigations Department revealed that the parcel of drugs was sent from Pakistan and was addressed to a Pakistani national residing in the Wellawatte area.
They stated that the parcel contained 14 kilogrammes of drugs, adding that the Pakistani national has been taken into custody for further investigations.
The Criminals Investigations Department went on to note that officials of the Central Mail Exchange will also be subjected to questioning in the near future.
