The Joint Opposition too has decided to hold a rally in Colombo on Thursday. Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo on Tuesday, Minister S.B. Dissanayake noted that what they are planning to do on the 17th is harmful for the party.
Explaining further, he noted that the local government representatives, provincial councillors and former parliamentarians should not support the crime committed against their party
Questions were raised by journalists as to what actions will he take if members of SLFP attend the meeting on the 17th.
Treasurer of SLFP, S.B. Dissanayake noted that they hope to take steps that will have the least harmful effect on the party, but at the same time uphold party discipline as they are not afraid to take decisions.
He further noted that the current government has five more years.
