Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe attended the launch of the Five Year National Plan of Action for the years 2016 – 2020. The event was held at the BMICH on Thursday March 11.
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister commented on the increase in government expenses.
The Prime Minister, speaking at the event said that following the war, the people did not enjoy freedom, adding that is why President Maithripala Sirisena came forward on January 8, with the mandate of the people, to give that right back to the people.
Providing housing and land deeds, water sanitation, infrastructure, health and nutrition and education, are included in this four year national action plan.
Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake noted that they would like to see the change in people who are under-privileged, who have been basically cast aside – are today getting back into normal life under normal conditions.
