A brand new position has been created in the hierarchy of the parliamentary staff.

For the first time in history Deputy General secretary of Parliament, Neil Iddewala has been promoted to the position of Parliamentary Chief of Staff.

The position carries perks and authority similar to that of a Secretary of a cabinet ministry.
