President Maithripala Sirisena attended the annual convocation of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology in Malabe on Thursday, February 25.
Graduate certificates were presented to 1017 students from the Information Technology, Engineering and Business Management Faculties.
Speaking at the occasion, President Sirisena said that during his recent state visits to Germany and Austria, he held discussions with the German Chancellor and the Austrian President and signed several agreements with them for Sri Lanka to gain the higher technological knowledge of those countries, and to initiate educational exchange programmes between the two countries.
He also noted that during the one-year period, he had signed agreements and inked pacts with many countries to bring the technological knowledge to the country.
