Silva continues to be the topic among political representatives as they commented on a statement made by former CJ during the event.
United National Party MP Ranjith Aluvihare voiced his disappointment on Silva reprimanding the Sirasa Media Network, while speaking to News 1st today February 19. MP Aluvihare also stated that the retired chief justice is the reason for money-based crossovers and that it was Silva’s decision which led to MPs moving from party to party.
Meanwhile, Western Provincial Councillor Gamini Thilakasiri stated that an inquiry must be held to determine if money was given to the Sirasa Channel and Maharaja by the LTTE.
He noted that the truth has to be revealed to the nation as the retired Chief Justice has, at times, pleaded forgiveness before the media for certain statements. The WP Councilor also urged the media to pay close attention to the matter.
