Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was on Thursday, summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power.
Secretary to the Commission Lacille de Silva said that the former president was summoned to PRECIFAC, to record a statement with regard to a complaint which is being investigated on the non-payment of money owed to the Independent Television Network for campaign advertisements telecast during the run up to presidential election.
The secretary added that former chairman of ITN, Anura Siriwardena is also being quizzed in this regard.
Secretary Lacille de Silva also noted that the complaint is being examined on charges of incurring losses to a state institution with the use of state powers.
