West Indies romped to a first ever under-19 Cricket World Cup title on Sunday, with a nail biting five-wicket victory over India, in the final held in Mirpur, Bangladesh.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the India under-19’s lost their first five wickets for under 51 runs. Sarfaraz Khan top scored for the Indians with 51.

Ryan John picked up 3 wickets for 38 runs for the Windies Under 19’s. The India Under 19’s were bowled out for 145 runs after 45 overs.

Batting in response, the Windies Under 19’s got off to a shaky start losing their first five wickets for under 77 runs. However, the lads from the Caribbean held their nerve to lead the Windies to victory, with three balls to spare.
