Bandaranaike International Airport officials on alert over Zika Virus

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health says that it has informed the officers attached to the airport about measures that need to be taken in the event patients with Zika virus enter the country.

The Epidemiology Unit said that the persons who have contracted the  Zika Virus could be identified with the use of heat detection monitors installed at the airport.

Director of the Epidemiology Unit, Dr. Paba Paliyawadena said that the health officers attached to the airport have been educated by the Ministry of Health about ways to handle patients carrying the Zika Virus.
