Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Pillayan further remanded

The former chief minister of the Eastern Province Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan was further remanded until February 24.

He was further remanded after he and three others were produced before the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court.

Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan faces charges in connection with the killing of former TNA parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingham who was shot dead on December 25, 2005 in Batticaloa.

He was arrested by the CID on October  9, 2015.
