The National Transport Commission says that the fine imposed for unlicensed driving of buses will be increased to Rs. 200, 000.
Chairman to the Commission , M.A.P. Hemachandra said that the current Rs. 10, 000 fine imposed against the unlicensed driving of buses is insufficient.
The chairman went on to note that unlicensed driving of buses takes place at an exponential rate throughout the country, adding that the raids into the matter will conducted with greater stringency.
