The wife of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate Serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption.
When News1st made inquiries, Secretary to the Commission, Lacille de Silva said that the former first lady will be summoned before the commission at 1 p.m. today.
A statement will be obtained from the former First lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa over an order made by her to the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) directing it to allocate a house to one of her media officers allegedly at a valuation far below the market value.
The PRECIFAC says that information has come to light that the house, located in Kahathuduwa, was valued at Rs.500,000, while the real value was estimated to be at Rs.5.5 million.
