Prime Minister Najib Razak has been cleared of corruption in a long-running financial scandal, by Malaysia’s top prosecutor

According to the attorney general’s office , Najib received $681 million as a personal donation from the Saudi royal family but critics allege that the money came from state-owned investment fund 1MDB.

Prime Minister Najib has consistently denied these accusations, but has faced pressure to resign over them while anti-corruption officials have previously said he received money as a gift from a foreign funder.
