President calls on politicians to commit themselves to national objectives

President Maithripala Sirisena presided over an event to declare open the Mahindodaya Technological Laboratory, at the Saliyawewa Model School in Puttalam.

Speaking at the event, President Maithripala Sirisena said that it is the responsibility of the politicians to commit themselves to national objectives when solving people’s issues, casting aside the thought of preferential votes.

The president requested the MPs and Minister to fulfill their responsibilities towards the people, without aiming at the upcoming local government elections or the general elections, that will take place in another five years.
