Sri Lanka fast-bowling coach Anusha Samaranayake and net bowler Gayan Vishwajith have been suspended by Sri Lanka Cricket over allegations of encouraging players to fix matches

During a recent series against the West Indies, Sri Lankan cricketers Kusal Janith Perera and Rangana Herath informed ICC that a group of people connected to SLC had attempted to encourage them to fix matches.

This fact was first unveiled by Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara at a media briefing held prior to the election of office bearers at SLC. Following an internal inquiry, SLC decided to suspend both of them. SLC Secretary Mohan Silva announced that Gayan Vishwajith will no longer be involved in any SLC activities.

The Financial Crimes Investigation Division has also commenced investigations into these allegations and as a result, Sri Lanka Team Manager Jerry Woutersz was called to the FCID as well. Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara noted that the FCID had recorded a statement from Woutersz.
