Pakistan minister Khan says relationship with SL is deepening into economic partnership

The ‘Pakistan Single Country Exhibition 2016’ was declared open on Friday, Jan. 15, at the BMICH by the Commerce Minister of Pakistan Khurram Dastgir Khan.

Minister Khan noted that the relationship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is now deepening into an economic partnership, and trade and investment are a vital part of this mutual prosperity that both governments are making to support their citizens, their industries, their farmers. He added that these efforts will continue.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade,  Malik Samarawickrama, stated that the exhibition’s objective is to boost the excellent relationship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and to increase trade between the two countries, while improving the the the ease of business index to cut through the red tape and the bureaucracy so countries like Pakistan can send goods to Sri Lanka without much difficulty.

The objective of holding the exhibition is to boost the longstanding commercial ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and invite businesses from the two friendly countries to tap into the growth potential of each other’s economies, leading to economies to which they enjoy preferential trade access, the minister said.

The exhibition will remain open from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17 with free entrance for the general public.
