The former president called on the Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter, the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero, when he visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya on Friday morning. Thereafter, Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Asgiri Maha Viharaya and called on the Mahanayak , the Most Venerable Galagama Attadassi Thero.

When questioned regarding the legal action being taken against politicians of the former government over allegations of fraud and corruption, the former President stated that there is no action and what you see is called Good Governance.

He said:

Although they speak now, it is known by us as to what happened. Everyone sees the wrongs of the former government, but they need to take collective responsibility if they were in the cabinet, but today they speak like saints.
