A high level discussion with the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Borge Brende was held in Colombo yesterday.
The discussion, which was organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, was attended by several local and international business leaders.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister said:
I am convinced that enhanced commercial cooperation between our countries is in our mutual interest.
He added:
There are several reasons for Norwegian businesses to pursue opportunities in Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka has successfully made the transition from a low-income to a middle-income country. And in a discussion with the Prime Minster, it was understood that the future of the country lies in the modernisation of the economic sector and opening up for foreign investments and Norway really would like to be a partner with you in this endeavour.
