Tensions in the Korean Peninsula is running high with South Korea retaliating to it northern neighbor’s latest claims of a “Successful H-Bomb test”

The South reactivated its propaganda speakers near the heavily armed border sperating the two countries. Seoul had announced on Friday that it has resumed broadcasting propaganda using loudspeakers over the demilitarized zone or DMT and has also announced an increase in cyber security defense.

North Korea considers the broadcasts tantamount to an act of war, and at times has responded to them with artillery fire.

Spokeswoman Hua Chunying had told reporters that Beijing had not been given advanced warning of the test and would be summoning Pyongyang’s ambassador to lodge a protest.

Not only does China and North Korea share a 1,416-kilometer long border that corresponds broadly speaking to the course of the Yalu and Tumen rivers the two nations have often indulged in trade and economical relations.

According to Jasper Kim, director of the Center for Conflict Management at South Korea’s Ewha University, “What China does not want is a dramatic implosion of North Korea, or a kinetic weapons war on its doorstep,”  even if the two nations have adhered to a certain level of alliance.

However the regime leader provides a certain level of stability and a strong nuclear weapons program strengthens Kim Jong Un’s regime, stabilizing his rule, making it far less likely that there will be regime change or he could be overthrown, from inside or out  which would throw the country into chaos and potentially sending millions of refugees pouring across the Chinese border
