UPFA opposition parliamentarians express views on role of Finance Minister

A group of opposition parliamentarians of UPFA, on Wednesday, December 23, expressed views on role of the Finance Minister, and the construction of a bridge linking India and Sri Lanka

UPFA Parliamentarian, Bandula Gunewardena stated that the Indian ministers have informed their house that they are studying the possibility of the bridge being constructed, but according to Sri Lanka’s ministers there is no talk as such.

UPFA Parliamentarian, Vasudeva Nanayakkara stated that a Singaporean economics professor who is currently in Sri Lanka had stated that the Minister Ravi Karunanayake is “not suitable for the job.”

He added that people like Eran Wickremeratne or Harsha De Silva should be given this position, “since they are qualified.”

He went on to note that when it comes to working methods, the Prime Minister does not act according to the statements which were given in parliament.
