While speaking to reporters in Colombo, JVP Propaganda Secretary, Vijitha Herath stated that benefits from the drop of world crude oil prices must be given to the people.
JVP Propaganda Secretary, Vijitha Herath added that even if the government imposes Port Tax, Production fees, Custom Tax, Operations Tax, a litre of fuel can be given for Rs.79 since the crude oil prices have dropped to 36.38 dollars, but instead it is given at 95 rupees.
He went on to note that the India Oil Company (IOC) imports 20m litres of diesel per month which causes a major loss to the Sri Lankan economy.
