An individual who claimed to be a co-ordinating secretary to a ministry and had allegedly attempted to smuggle four gold biscuits weighing at 400g, into the country was arrested by Customs at the Katunayake Air Port on Tuesday morning.
Customs Media Spokesperson and Customs Exports Director Leslie Gamini said that the suspect had brought the gold biscuits from Singapore.
He added that the gold biscuits were valued at two million rupees. The suspect is a 42-year-old from Borella.
