Empower the Woman campaign dazzles Gampaha, Kulikadda on Day 10

It is the responsibility of the country as a whole to empower women with knowledge and understanding to prevent  unfortunate incidents that we have been hearing of in recent times, from taking place. The campaign, Empower the Woman , which is dedicated to this cause entered its 10th day today.

The campaign which is organised by News 1st, Sirasa and Shakthi aimed at empowering women with equality and security, is carried out together with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Police, Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, District Secretariats and Divisional Secretariats.

One leg of the awareness programme, aimed at empowering  the women, who render a silent service, commenced from the Gampaha train station on Saturday. Another leg of the campaign took place in Gampaha and provided the opportunity for the women in the area to raise their concerns and solutions to the issues they face.

The leg of the campaign which commenced from the North reached Medawachchiya on Saturday. The campaign aimed at providing essential knowledge to women on their security and other important facts, reached Kulikkada on Saturday evening.
