An emotional United People’s Freedom Alliance MP, Geetha Kumarasinghe, expressed views in Parliament on Friday, stating that when a woman from India was sentenced to be stoned to death, Indira Gandhi took a firm decision. She said that if the woman was stoned to death, 100 persons of that nationality in India should be arrested.

She further noted that an American national was arrested for murder in Saudi Arabia but that government was compelled to rescue him and take him back. She said that  we need to think more on the innocent women.

She added:

Five hundred thousand ( 500,000) women are serving in those countries, and men like you are never stoned, but only women are stoned. As Jesus said once, if there is anyone who had done no wrong,  to throw the stone… so you have no right to speak on this matter.
