A Turkish Airlines flight leaving New York bound for Turkey was diverted to Halifax in Canada after a bomb threat.

The Turkey-bound flight with 256 people on board landed safely at Halifax International Airport in eastern Canada.

Canadian police said they were investigating but would not comment on the details of the threat.

On November 17, a bomb threat forced Air France Flight 55 to divert to the Halifax airport with 262 people aboard.

Police searched the plane and found no explosives.
