The battle for top place in the La Liga will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium where the hosts will take on rivals Barcelona at 10.45pm today (21st Saturday). Barcelona currently tops the table with 27 points and is closely followed by Real Madrid with 24 points.



Barcelona will decide ,an hour before the game,if Lionel Messi will appear in the El Clásico  later tonight. Luis Enrique desicion will have a massive impact on the game with both sides fighting for the top place in the La Liga. The Argentine forward, 28, has been out with a knee injury since 26 September but returned to training this week.

Real striker Karim Benzema, who is under formal investigation in connection with a sex tape, has missed the last 6 games through injury but Real’s Manager,Rafael Benitez is yet to decide if the French forward is in the starting line-up.

Both teams are out for the La Liga title and both teams will have a star studded line-up. Real Madrid has won 7 games drawn 3 and lost 1 while Barcelona has won 9 games and lost 2 in the league. Messi’s absence has not stopped the Nou Camp boys from fireing with Luis Suarez and Neymar, but Christiano Rolando continues to impress with his performances so far. Roanldo has hit the net 8 times while Brazilian forward,Neymar has score 11 times in the league.

The game, dubbed the El Clásico in Spanish or ‘The Classic’ , is one of the most viewed sporting events in the world, will have extra security in place, following the Paris Attacks on Friday the 13th.At least 1,000 police will be present as Real Madrid host Barcelona on Saturday, double what is usually deployed for the match.
