State Min. Aluvihare speaks of an ‘appealing budget’

State Minister of Agriculture Wasantha Aluvihare says that the budget which will be presented tomorrow, will be one which appeals to the interests of the general population.

The State Minister made this statement while on an inspection tour of the Sri Lanka ‘Hadabima’ Authority. During the inspection tour, State Minister Wasantha Aluvihare held discussions with the officials  and inquired on the progress of its functions.

Thereafter, the State Minister inspected the retail store attached to the Authority.

The State Minister of Agriculture said:

A sum of 37 billion rupees has been allocated for the Ministry of Agriculture and a sum of eight billion has been increased to this amount from the previous year. So measures are being taken to provide the necessary funds required for these programmes and projects.

He added:

Now a new budget is to be presented by the Minister of Finance, which will be one which looks into the interests of the people. The general public will receive several concessions through this budget. If you look at the Ministry of Agriculture, a separate sum of money has been allocated for the President’s national programme. Moreover, a separate programme will also be implemented from the Agriculture Ministry.
