Fourteen Indian fishermen have been arrested by the Sri Lankan Coastguard for violating Sri Lanka’s maritime boundary.
Navy Media Spokesperson Captain Akram Alavi stated that the arrests were made off the coast of Delft on Wednesday last night and that three vessels have also been taken into custody.
He further stated that that the fourteen fishermen are scheduled to be handed over to the Jaffna Office of the Department of Fisheries on Thursday..
