The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Wissanu Krea-ngam, who is currently on an official visit to Sri Lanka, called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s official residence on Wednesday.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand brought back the Sacred Buddha Relics of the Mahiyangana Raja Maha Viharaya that was taken to Thailand for an exposition in parallel to the President Sirisena’s state visit to Thailand earlier this month.
Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam held a cordial discussion with the President and both leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the Buddhist cultural links between the two countries.
Attention was drawn to further strengthen the cultural and economic ties between the two countries and to conduct exchange programmes on areas such as culture and commerce between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
