Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, speaking at an event in Hakamana, commented on the luxury bunker constructed at the Presidential Palace.
The former president attended a religious event at the Jayasumanarama Temple in Hakmana.
The former president said that although it is widely spread as a palace underground, what they wanted was a bunker, adding there are facilities to conduct meetings in that.
He also said that they wanted a place remain if they were attacked for weeks.
Speaking further the former President noted:
“We needed to be able to steer the war operations. That is a privilege of a state leader and his security. However, today is has been made into a joke…”
