President Maithripala Sirisena says that the main objective of the government is to create a healthy generation of people.

The president made this statement during an event held at Royal College in Colombo on Saturday.

The Heart Beat 2015 walk was organised under the guidance of the UNESCO Society of Royal College Colombo with the intention of overcoming adverse health habits.

The walk got underway from the Nelum Pokuna Roundabout following the blessings of religious leaders of all faiths.

The President , Prime Minister, Ministers, MPs and other invitees as well a students from different schools took part in the walk.
