State Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe met the chief prelates of the Malwathu and Asgiri chapters on Sunday and received their blessings.
After paying homage at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, State Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe visited the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter of the Siam sect, the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera.
A book containing speeches made by the Minister in Parliament, and in the international forum, was presented to the Chief Prelates.
The Minister then called on the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter, the Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi thera.
State Minister of Finance, Mahinda Samarasinghe said:
We are able to move forward with the resolution that was adopted at the Human Rights Council in Geneva because it is not disadvantageous to us. And this can be understood from the fact that the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa and the former Chief Minister, Karunanidhi rejected the resolution, noting that it was advantageous to Sri Lanka.
