The Pathfinder Foundation says that the only way to rejuvenate the loss incurring, state-owned enterprises is to list them in the share market.

Executive Director of the Pathfinder Foundation Lakshman Siriwardena says that such listed enterprises have shown successes.

The Pathfinder Foundation says the history of state owned enterprises go back to the British colonial rule. And since then have accounted for a significant share of the economy and their losses and inefficiencies substantially contributed to the retardation of growth and development of the country.

The Pathfinder Foundation says that there are 81 SOEs and among them are the CEB , CPC , Ports and Aviation Institutions. It adds that over the years many SOEs, including these, have incurred massive losses over the years.
