Speaking at a media briefing held to elaborate cabinet decisions, Co-Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne stated that the Local Government Elections will be held after the completion of the demarcation process.
The Minister noted that the Demarcation has been carried out based on political needs and that the present Government is not in favor of it. Therefore, the Minister added, that it has been decided to re-do the demarcation process and that it is to be completed by the end of March.
Meanwhile, the cabinet had also granted approval to summon the Provincial Chief Minister to the cabinet meeting once in every two months.
According to Co-Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka, it has also been proposed by the Prime Minister to summon the appointed MPs as the Committee Heads in Parliament, to the Cabinet meeting once in every two months
Furthermore, journalists raised questions over reports which say that the money of several Sri Lankans have been deposited in a bank Dubai.
