Three Customs officials were arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for allegedly soliciting a bribe of Rs.125 million.
Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, Dilrukshi Dias said the officials had allegedly demanded a bribe
to release a consignment of goods worth Rs.1500 million, by evading duty.
The suspects are a Customs Superintendent, a Deputy Customs Superintendent and an Assistant Superintendent. The Commission said this was the largest bribe in its history
