The tenure of the local government institutions which are yet to conclude, have been extended to December 31.

The tenure of the respective local government institutions were originally to end on  October 31.

The tenure of 21 local government institutions, including the Colombo Municipal Council, are to end on October 16, while the tenure of two other local government institutions are to end on October 31.
